A True Story of Nick Cleaning the Kitchen.
- This is a conversation that took place while I was observing Nick putz around the kitchen.
- Me: Did you just blow your nose, and then wipe the kitchen counter with your tissue?
- (Long pause.)
- Nick: Yeah. But I used the other side of the tissue.
Old Years. NEW YEARS. Borrowed Years. Blue Years.
Like a lot of people I don’t make New Years resolutions. Too much pressure.
Like a lot of people I like In-N-Out Burger. So delicious.
Which brings me to this poignant New Years/ In-N-Out story.
Yesterday, after a successful trip to The Container Store AND The Pottery Barn - Nick had definitely earned a trip to In-N-Out. During our Dine-In experience I couldn’t help but overhear a young dude talking to what I can only assume was his very old grandfather. I only EXTRA noticed because the grandpa and Nick were wearing the same jacket.
Anyways. The grandpa said something to the granddude that I could not hear, as they waited patiently for their food. I watched the granddude’s face as he looked at his grandpa and exclaimed “of course! I love spending time with you!” I immediately choked on a cheese fry. I could only deduce that the old man had just thanked him for spending time with him.
It made me think that although I’m not close in proximaty to our families right now, I can still do my best to keep in touch and be a good long distance family member. I may not be able to take my grandma out for cheese fries, but I could write her a letter.
Another way I thought would help would be to resurrect this old blog, and keep all my family and friends up to date on the happenings, hoop la’s, and more than likely ho hum’s of our life.
Be forewarned. I can make no promises that this blog will be nothing more than pictures of Mikey and Starbucks cups. But I will at least make an effort… something NEW for ‘09.
